Dave Chen is a Senior Engineering Manager at Google leading several teams that build internal tooling and infrastructure to increase engineering productivity. In 2013, in partnership with Google’s People Dev organization, he led the creation of a leadership development program for engineers in these roles which has since gone global. Dave is a graduate of several leadership training programs. In addition to these activities, Dave is passionate about mentoring, coaching, STEM education, performance management, scholarship/grant review, interviewing/hiring and recruiting. He has filed several patents.
Prior to Google, Dave has held positions at Yahoo!, Lockheed Martin, and a startup. At Lockheed, Dave participated in the Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) and led a team of 20 on an internal research and development project. Dave has a MS in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and a BS of Computer Science and Engineering from Ohio State University.
