Limbitless Solutions is non-profit organization committed to providing affordable 3D printed bionic arms to children who need them, all around the world. The Gainesville branch team consists of UF students from different fields including engineering, art, and health science. Limbitless Solutions at Gainesville started its journey last summer, and has been able to help our first child, eight year old Alejandro Hernandez to receive his first bionic arm. Join Limbitless Solutions as they provide insight into their projects and their future plans.
About the Speakers:
Andy Therathanakorn is a 2nd year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Florida. He helped found the Limbitless Solution Gainesville Branch in 2015. He is currently one of the leaders for the Fitting team, which oversees how the bionic arm fits on the child and how all components will fit together. Outside of Limbitless Solution, you can find Andy playing with the University of Florida’s Ultimate Frisbee team.
Elaine Del Rosario is a 4th year Digital Arts and Sciences major under the engineering department and the lead for Limbitless Solution Gainesville Branch’s Aesthetic Design team. She deals with how the arm looks in terms of 3D modeling and painting. Outside of Limbitless, you can find her involved with the Korean Undergraduate Association at the University of Florida as their current President.
